Porting the Solaris ZFS file system to the FreeBSD operating system

The ZFS file system made revolutionary (as opposed to evolutionary) steps forward in filesystem design, with its authors claiming that they threw away 20 years of obsolete assumptions to design an integrated system from scratch. In this article, we describe the porting of ZFS to FreeBSD, along with dscribing some of the key features of the ZFS file system.
